Matt Putzer

Matt was the 2021 City Tournament Scratch All Events winner. He has at least 12 sanctioned 300 games and 8 sanctioned 800 series. He also was in the top five association averages as recently as 2019-20 season.

​Meritorious Service

Deanne Wass

Deanne has committed 40+ years to bowling in the Carson City area. She joined the Capital City Women’s Bowling Association (CCWBA) in 1976 and in 1982 she became the director. She served as CCWBA’s first Vice President for 6 years, as well as being elected for a delegate for the Women’s National Tournament. In 1990, Deanne became president of the Tri-County YABA serving until the merge with Carson Country USBC (CCUSBC). With her dedicated service, she was given the honor of being a lifetime member of the CCWBA in 2003.

Prior to the annual meeting for the 2021-22 bowling season, Mike took first place with his team and first place with one of his sons in Doubles in the CCUSBC Open Championship. Michael also took first place in his age group for the CCUSBC Senior Tournament.

Colleen Harkins
​

Prior to the annual meeting for the 2021-22 bowling season, Colleen took first place in the CCUSBC Queens tournament, second place in the CCUSBC Open Championship All Events (handicap) and third place with her team in the Open. 

​Love of Bowling

Karen Ferreira

Karen Ferreira has served in leadership positions on her leagues, currently serving as President of the Silver City Trios at Carson Lanes. She always recruits from leagues for tournaments whether local, state, or national (especially when in Reno). She works with her service organizations, such as the Emblem Club, to hold bowling tournaments and encourages participation throughout CCUSBC.

Chris Baird

​Chris has a love for bowling that shows every time he hits the lanes. He has bowled since he could walk and his biggest inspiration was his Dad. He coaches others to better their game. Chris reminds others to show passion for the game even on the rough days; with a smile on his face, he encourages others to never give up.

Star of Tomorrow

Derrick Johnson

Derrick is the first to volunteer to meet with a new league member and is always willing to help the younger kids. His passion for bowling drives his desire to perform. He leads by example on the lanes, teaching new bowlers’ and encouraging those around him. He maintains a positive attitude, even when struggling, Derrick's sportsmanship and skills have earned him a reputation within the local bowling community and the younger bowlers all look up to him.
